Christmas has quickly come and gone and now summer planning is almost in full swing. Of anything, I really hate having to look for plane tickets. But this summer looks like it will take the pinnacle of anything I've had to plan. Plan is to visit friends in one state then out of the country to visit Bolivia for a little bit and then something really special to me. Lord willing I'll be able to stand in a good friends wedding. Something I thought would never happen since I'm so far away across the ocean.
Oh...I'm so excited. It's finally here. CHRISTMAS BREAK!!! Yippee Skippy! I'm glad to be off of school for 2 weeks. Of course now I'm sick but that's okay because I'd rather be at home instead of trying to make it through a day of school. I can't believe that Christmas is in 5 sleeps. The only Christmas shopping I've done is for my students so I guess maybe today I'll start if I'm feeling better in a few hours.
Here I go...my first blog. I'm back to my roots. Yup, I'm back to my home town...but I never thought I'd be living right across the street from the beach. Now when I mean right across, yes that is literal. The Lord has blessed me with a great house and awesome roommate. After I came back in 05 everything is busy busy busy. I'm now a teacher at the school I attended in elementary. Believe it or not, it's hard to live in Hawaii. Actually I got island fever and had to leave. After 4 years at college, I'm not used to not having to travel during breaks. To help with my island fever, I left the island a little over a month ago and traveled up to the frozen tundra, Northland Baptist Bible College for a week. Only those of you familiar with Northland understand the irony. Yes. I know, why does a person from Hawaii vacation in Wisconsin? Well...the Lord has used that place in my life and I needed somewhere encouraging to go to. Northland was that place. Besides it was the most profitable place to be. I was able to see over 40 of my college friends. I thank the Lord for that opportunity. Sad to say though, I'll probably never see most of them again...unless I become a world traveler. But that's not happening.
